Julia Gillard becomes new Australian Prime Minister after Kevin Rudd resigned. The leadership challenge that was expected to go down this morning did not eventuate as Kevin Rudd elected to step down. Wayne Swann becomes Deputy PM.

Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is facing a leadership challenge tonight as his former backers in the Australian Labor Party have deserted him for his deputy, Julia Gillard who moments ago took a position to challenge Rudd. Those keeping an eye in Australian politics are speculating strongly that by tomorrow Australia will have a new Prime Minister ahead of the election later this year.

Earlier today Apple announced that it has sold 3 million iPads in 80 days. That works out on average to 37,500 per day. The popularity of this device is quite astounding given how it’s only available in less than ten countries. It constantly sells out in most locations. On the other hand, when you see kids play around with the iPad as at the link above, you might understand why it’s done so well.

I’m a massive fan of Instapaper. It’s a service that lets you save articles and read them later on your iOS devices or on your standard computers, with a amazing readability factor. Wacchen is a similar service but for videos. I’ve yet to try it but it seems to have taken the same premise and apply it to video sites.
