Apparently they’ve managed to improve the ability of oil-consuming bacteria to help cleanup oil spills. Anyone else see anything wrong with this? Sure, it would make cleaning the Gulf of Mexico even easier and faster but when these babies get released, who’s to say they won’t eat up the world’s supply of oil and oil-based products? Imagine your notebooks, toys, cars, gadgets, all disappear thanks to an evolved form of this bacteria. It’d be a different world.
