Twitter as news reader?

Smoking Apple’s Milind Alvares on using Twitter for news feed instead of RSS:“with the new ‘lists’ feature in Twitter (and especially so when major clients support it), you can pretty much have an RSS client right inside your twitter client.”

Black shirt day

Please read this excellent collection of accounts to find out what’s all this fuss about the president, the police, and the anti-corruption commission.
There is a call today to wear black to support the anti-corruption commission. Thank you @bolbal for the black T-shirt.

No shorts, no skirts in Aceh

A local regulation in Aceh now bans Muslim women from wearing tights and men from wearing shorts according to an AFP story in The Jakarta Globe
If a woman flouts (the rule), her trousers will be cut up on the spot and replaced with a skirt that will be provided free of charge by the West Aceh government,” district chief Ramli Mansur told AFP.

“This rule applies not only to women but also to men, who are prohibited from wearing shorts,” he added.”

Now does that mean the men will have their shorts cut up and replaced with a government issued skirt?

From the “I could have used this” department

Corey Jones carved this beautifully done hardwood iPhone for a baby to chew on. This would have been perfect for my Fara about a year and a half ago when she started gnawing on my iPhone instead of the rubber teethers we bought for her. Even if it was housed in a rugged silicon case, Fara always managed to take it out. Props for Apple though, my iPhone always came out intact and absolutely undamaged, just needed some water and wipes to clean it up.

Seinfeld. On Twitter

This is brilliant. As a commenter put it, a show about nothing on a medium about nothing. Characterization is flawless.
