“Passengers on a Batavia Air plane scheduled to fly from Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport to Surabaya were sent into panic when they saw smoke coming out of the back of their plane before their scheduled takeoff on Thursday morning.
Batavia Air Corporate Secretary, Edi Haryanto told the Jakarta Globe that the passengers were panic stricken and forcefully opened the emergency door.“They opened the emergency exit and came out of the plane using the slide,” Edi said.
Edi said that the smoke coming out of the engine was an ordinary occurance during the process to prepare for take-off. “It’s just an ordinary thing,” he said.”
