75% adoption rate and $65 million in five days

Impressive numbers posted by Tapbots. 75% of iPhone owners have upgraded to 3.0 while just over 50% of iPod touch owners have. Obvious conclusion to draw there given 3.0 costs $9.95 for iPod touch owners and free for iPhone owners.

With at least 13 million iPod touch owners according to Apple’s latest financial report in April, a 50% adoption rate nets Apple a decent $65 million in just 5 days.
On a different note, developers may soon drop support for OS 2.x given the majority of iPhone OS users have switched to 3.0, possibly before the next round of iPod updates. Some may have already
